"Wissensfabrik"
ThyssenKrupp also contributes to the education of children and young people as one of the founding members of the "Wissensfabrik" initiative. The aim of the initiative is to make Germany more viable as a business lacation of the future and to shape up the next generation for global competition.
Dr. Ekkehard Schulz, Executive Board Chairman of ThyssenKrupp AG, welcomed participants in the meeting of "Wissensfabrik" members on May 19, 2008 held at the Ideas Park in Stuttgart.
The "Wissensfabrik" is active in three areas: It promotes knowledge, entrepreneurship and competitiveness. To promote knowledge, member companies enter into partnerships with schools, take part in school projects and seek advice from education experts. School partnerships help teach children and young people how scientists, engineers and business experts think. Thanks to the dedication of its over 60 member companies, the initiative has now significantly exceeded its target of 1,000 school partnerships in Germany.
